Work / Trail Kit
Web application
A searchable hiking gear directory with 265+ items, live search, category filtering and a full admin backend.

Choosing hiking gear means reading a dozen retailer sites, none of which agree on weight, price or what category a thing belongs in. The information exists. It is just scattered.
The problem was never a lack of gear reviews. It was that there was nowhere to compare 265 items on the two things that actually matter when you are carrying them: what they weigh and what they cost.
Trail Kit is a directory, so the whole thing lives or dies on search. Results filter as you type, categories narrow the list without a page reload, and it works properly on a phone, which is where people use it.
Behind it sits a real admin backend rather than a spreadsheet: items are added, edited and categorised in the app, and analytics show what people are actually searching for so the catalogue grows towards demand.
265+ items, searchable in a second, with a backend that means the catalogue can keep growing without a developer.
It is a product rather than a client site, which makes it a fair demonstration of what the same approach builds when there is no brief but my own.
